Getting Started

Helping you improve the quality of your life.

Welcome to Living Well on Purpose! How exciting that you have taken an interest in improving your health. I look forward to helping each of you reach your goals. My hope and prayer is that your goal is to reach a higher level of health that includes energy, vitality, and an even better looking you.

What I have personally enjoyed watching in patients on their nutritional journey back to health is that their eyes are clearer and brighter, the color in their faces improves, and within months they often look and feel younger. Tracking tools can also help patients monitor changes in their physical fitness over time.

What diet should you follow?

There is not one specific diet that works for everyone, but there are practical principles that can help. Whether you are trying to lose weight, build muscle, or improve your health, consider reducing added sugars and highly refined foods. These can include desserts, sodas, sweetened drinks, and heavily processed breads, pastas, and snacks.

Excess sugar may contribute to metabolic and dental problems and can crowd more nutrient-dense foods out of the diet. Sustainable change is easier when it focuses on better everyday choices rather than a single rigid plan.

Look beyond the old food pyramid

Many clinicians and nutrition professionals have questioned older dietary models that emphasized a large amount of refined grains. Some people also find that particular grains do not agree with them. Individual tolerance, food quality, preparation, and the overall balance of the diet all matter.
